This analog beaut has been fully serviced by our tech team with new motherboard installed and ready to synthesize!
This synthesizer packs a six-voice polyphony with unison and chord memory voice assignment modes. It offers 32 memory slots for storing patches and a cassette port for patch backup. Equipped with an arpeggiator.
During its release, the Polysix, along with the Roland Juno-6, was among the first polyphonic analog synthesizers available at an affordable price. While it cost roughly twice as much as the Juno-6, it boasted a greater range of features. Notably, it provided on-board patch storage and backup, which the Juno lacked until the improved Juno-60 model was introduced.
Korg developed the Polysix with inspiration from the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5, aiming to incorporate some of its high-end features into a compact, dependable, and significantly more affordable design. Although not as potent, it employed SSM2044 4-pole voltage-controlled filters, delivering a warm, rounded, and natural sound characteristic to the Polysix.
Polysix has built-in chorus, phaser, and 'ensemble' effects. These effects utilize a 'bucket brigade' analog delay line design, contributing to a richer and more expansive sound output.
